Healthcomms Consulting appoints another Strategic Adviser

Healthcomms Consulting (HCC) can today announce that Julia Scott, the former Chief Executive of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, has joined the HCC team as a Strategic Adviser.

Julia was Chief Executive of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists from 2006 to 2021. During this time the organisation achieved Royal status, significantly increased its profile with a range of stakeholders and membership grew to its highest number. She led the organisation through both governance and structural reviews and supported closer working with other Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Social Work.

Upon joining HCC as a Strategic Adviser, she commented:

“The challenges in health and social care are clear and I’m passionate about making a difference for everyone I work with. I am really excited about working with HCC at this critical time. It has never been more important for organisations to invest in public affairs activity and policy related conversations.”

HCC Partner, Dan Jones, stated:

“As we have seen over the past 12 months, health and social care has been put under immense pressure and has had to change rapidly to meet the challenge of Covid-19. This change will continue as we move beyond the current crisis and as that happens it is important that the social care sector has a clear voice.

That is why I am delighted that we can now call on Julia to support our clients to do this more effectively. Her knowledge and understanding of the health and social care landscape is exceptional and I look forward to working with her to deliver a real impact.”

Julia brings a wealth of experience, having started her career as an Occupational therapist in the NHS before moving into the social care setting. Julia has been awarded a prestigious Social Care Fellowship from the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and an inaugural Fellowship from Skills for Care, in recognition of her leadership and support of the social care workforce.

As well as acting as a Strategic Adviser for HCC, Julia is also a Trustee of Age UK and a mentor for the Elizabeth Casson Trusts and for other Allied Health Professionals.
